- Website URLs: When you submit a URL for verification, we process the domain name to perform security checks. We store verification results to provide report pages and improve our service.
- Community ratings: If you submit a star rating, we store your rating, any predefined feedback tags you select (no free text), and a hashed fingerprint of your IP address to prevent duplicate votes. We do not store your raw IP address in our ratings database.
- Contact information: If you contact us via email, we retain your message and email address to respond to your inquiry.
Automatically collected information
- Log data: Our servers automatically record standard log information including IP address, browser type, referring page, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and service analytics.
- Cookies: We may use essential cookies required for site operation. Third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate VerifyThisSite:
- Supabase: Database hosting for verification results and community ratings (EU/US data centers).
- Google Safe Browsing API: To check domains against Google's threat database. Domain names are sent to Google for this check.
- URLhaus (abuse.ch): Malware database lookups.
- RDAP services: Domain registration data lookups.
- Google AdSense: Advertising. Google may use cookies to serve ads. See Google's privacy policy for details.
Data Retention
Verification results are cached for 24 hours and stored in our index database indefinitely to provide permanent report pages. Community ratings are retained indefinitely. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.
Your Rights

Children's Privacy
